the O initiative

Transforming drinking fountains into public art

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

What is the O initiative?

Founded by Social Entrepreneur, Gretha Oost, the O initiative was created to change the way we drink tap water in public spaces. Its sole mission is to eliminate the massive amounts of single-use plastic drink bottles that end up in landfill, our rivers and oceans.

Urban+ have partnered with the O initiative to help generate more awareness about this important cause, and together, hope to provide a tangible solution through the one-of-a-kind O fountain.

The O fountain combines the functionality of a bottle refill station with the attraction of a public art sculpture. Its ability to spark conversation around important sustainability issues as well as provide a sensory experience for the public makes the O fountain a wonderful addition to any urban renewal or new development project.
